First of all, I want to extend my appreciation to you for checking out the website! Bringing the practice of creative wellness to this community has been my life for the past few years, and I'm so thankful for all of the support! "Why Cy Designs?" is a question I get asked frequently. Cy ( pronounced "sigh") was my Grandfather's nic-name. He encouraged a lot of my early creativity, and my entire family inspires me continuously to use my skills to help others, so it's a name to me that personally honors all of them. My background in fine arts laid the foundation for developing this program. I have an AS degree in Fine Arts where I learned and developed multiple skills working with a variety of mediums. I am a certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach and am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. Since I can remember I've been an artistic/creative person, some of my work has been featured in a few community art projects and events. I have also personally experienced beneficial wellness aspects from the creative process, which inspired my academic studies in Creative Art Therapy and Psychology. Through this I have had many opportunities facilitating creative wellness based projects. I have worked in a variety of settings including nursing homes, a dementia care facility, childcare facilities, schools, community groups, and other specialized programs. My goal for Cy Design's Creative Wellness is to give everyone the opportunity to use art as a catalyst for their own personal wellness goals. I am very excited to be able to bring my program to this community! I'm always available to chat if you have any questions about the program or processes involved! Can't wait to get creative with you!
